“It appears that she (Sarah Godlewski) has a lot of meetings at the Starbucks near the Capitol” – Orville Seymer
What does Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski actually do? She spends time sitting in Starbucks and on Teams, it appears. But much of her schedule is blank.
A citizen activist has provided Wisconsin Right Now with Godlewski’s calendar. She is running for lieutenant governor as a Democrat. As an aside, Godlewski, whose husband’s business practices have been under the microscope in recent years, found time recently to post goofy videos with state Rep. Robyn Vining on social media.
“What does Sarah Godlewski do all day long?” Orville Seymer asked, sending us the official calendars that he received through an open records request.
“Way back on Dec. 22, 2025, I requested a copy of her calendar for the months of Jan. Feb. & March of 2025. I finally got my request fulfilled today, almost 4 months later,” he said. “If you simply scroll through her calendar, you will find days with nothing. In fact, there are weeks (that have) nothing, but it appears that she has a lot of meetings at the Starbucks near the Capitol.”
We reviewed the calendars that the Secretary of State’s office sent Seymer. Indeed, they show pages with nothing on them, many dates listing only a single or a couple of Teams meetings (a Zoom-like platform), and multiple meetings that list “Starbucks.”
In a letter to Seymer, the Wisconsin Office of the Secretary of State’s office wrote that the office was “in receipt of your records request, dated December 22, 2025, in which you requested ‘Copies of the calendar for Sec. Godlewski for the time period Jan. 1 2025 thru March 31, 2025.’”
The office added: “Time reflected on the calendar that is not expressly designated in the calendar is used for other official priorities.” It doesn’t say what they are.
The letter indicated that the only item redacted was a Zoom address.
Godlewski was appointed to the Secretary of State’s position by Gov. Tony Evers after she withdrew from a state Senate primary. She was previously state Treasurer.
