A Half-Million-Dollar Axon Package Is Heading Toward Trempealeau County’s Budget

A Half-Million-Dollar Axon Package Is Heading Toward Trempealeau County’s Budget

A five-year Axon equipment package worth $480,827.91 is being considered by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office.

I scanned a copy of the proposal because it had not been posted publicly. The document outlines a package of Tasers, body-worn cameras, in-car video systems, redaction software and training. It lists a proposed contract start date of Feb. 1, 2027.

  • Taser 10 equipment: $122,835
  • Body-worn cameras: $77,074.80
  • Fleet 3 in-car video: $221,916
  • Redaction Assistant software: $12,889.80
  • Training and support services

The proposal lists total program costs of $480,827.91 over five years. This was listed as “discussion only” and will be listed somewhere I am sure in the Sheriff’s budget proposal.
